Question Column Support Help!?

Hi im wondering if anyone can detail the 3 differnt column support systems listed below, describing the characteristics of each systems, typical dimentions, size of re-inforcing, pictures or sketches of each would be awsome and where/why each is used. Any help would be appreciated!

1.Timber
2.Steel
3.Concrete
