Cant Find Waterproofing Contractor

Was wondering if anyone can help me out. I have called and called to find someone to waterproof the exterior of a 3' block wall which I will backfill against. Cant find anyone to give me an estimate. What can I buy to do it myself? the wall is 3'x36'. Need to submit a bid on the job ASAP anyone know where to get the material and about what it takes to install it? Thanks
im in Greensboro NC

You're not looking hard enough. Waterproofers charge by the square foot for typical applications and can give you a quote on the phone. Most will have a minimum you might run into for this. Generally $300-400. You might be better off getting some polywall and rolling it on yourself.

Do you want to waterproof or damp proof the wall?

Damp proofers are everywhere, but advertising costs more than the equipment. For damp proofing, some black stuff (color looks impressive) and some poly will satisfy someone for a while. - Anyone can do it.

This is what we use,

http://www.seaboardasphalt.com/LN-16_Data.htm

LN-16 is the formulation you need.
HD and Lowes will usually have LN-4 which looks pretty much the same but is not waterproof.

You should be able to find this at nearly any good builders supply.

A can of this stuff, a paint roller, and some clothes you want to throw away when finished are all you need.

Re: Cant Find Waterproofing Contractor

Just a note on Waterproofing.

If this is for a dwelling especially residential be careful. Most contractors insurance policies exclude doing any kind of damp or waterproofing. I know contractors that have been dropped for no other reason than applying thoro seal. The mold issue to them is huge. If this is a written requirement in plans think twice.

We only apply materials spec'd by someone else. We do not ever use the words damp/water- proofing even in conversation. foundation coating is the term we use if we would entertain doing the work. Builders should not put it in their spec's either.
