Bobcat Ignition

I have a new bobcat 863 skidsteer here and I made a stupid mistake and broke the key off in the ignition(don't ask long story). What can I do? can I buy a replacement igniton and swamp it out? how hard would this be if possible?

Re: Bobcat Ignition

If it's BRAND new I'd lean on the dealer to fix the problem at no cost.

Re: Bobcat Ignition

Can't get the key out I take it? Have you called a locksmith to have him try to get the key out and make you a new one? It'd be like a hundred bucks but that's a small expense compared to lost time this time of year.

Re: Bobcat Ignition

take little jb weld and put it on the end of a pencil. when it tacks up hold it on the broken key part and let it set. you should be able to pull it out after letting it set overnight

Re: Bobcat Ignition

The switches used to be made by Indak and were cheap. Changing them out were certainly a DIY project, only 3 or 4 wires on 3 terminals. The terms are marked B for battery, I for ignition and S for start.
