Best Sealant For Silicone Modified Polyester Coated Metal Seams?

Good morning. This is my first post here, looks like you guys have good information. I tried searching but haven't found this topic so far.

I normally use a 100% silicone sealant on metal buildings (silicone modified polyester paint finish). Recently, the metal panel supplier stated that silicone caulking will react with the SMP paint finish and loose its bond over time.
Is this true?
If so, what is recommended for a good, high quality sealant for metal buildings? I was thinking maybe a DAP Dynaflex 230?

Thanks for any help.

Ask the technical support folks from the manufacturer. In my experience this is the best way to go.

The Dynaflex 230 is pretty good. However, it does shrink a lot, and it will turn blue in contact with copper. Takes a while to cure.

Re: Best Sealant For Silicone Modified Polyester Coated Metal Seams?

I had a pole building that I built years ago and used nails to fasten metal (before screws were being used) and it was a chocalate brown roof and the metal expanded and contracted so much the nail holes got bigger and it started leaking. I got some NP1 and it sure held good--in fact a wind sheer took the building down and that caulk was stuck tight to nails. I cant remember who makes NP1 but I think I got it at ABC Supply. I have had real good luck with Geocel also--it is a tri polymer that expands and contracts real well. One thing -- NP1 guns hard when it is cold, more so than silicone.
