Asphalt Based Spray On Exterior Wall

Hi Everybody,

I have a question regarding finishing exterior concrete blocks in a building, north in Huntsville Ontario:

Is using an asphalt based spray on air barrier considered harmful or not desired for building users ?? Will building users smell this asphaltic material when using the building ?

Thanks in advance.

Please don't double post.

Give it some time. During the day, a lot of guys are out working (unlike me right now). Wait until this evening when the board starts to heat up. You should get an answer soon.

Re: Asphalt Based Spray On Exterior Wall

No it does not smell like asphalt. Check out Hyrdrocide 700b by BASF. It is a very common asphalt based vapor barrier that is used on block when covered with a brick veneer.
