Any Of You Guys Used This Stuff?

i live on a lake, and have a 9' tall concrete seawall that i'm deathly afraid of a grandkid falling off of, or me or friend falling off of after a few cocktails. i'm attaching a pic so you get an idea of what i'm trying to do here. have any of you used this type of a product for this application? is it fairly sturdy, leaning against, etc. etc.? anything better you'd recommend?

here's the website of the product i'm looking at. thanks in advance for your input. www.fortressiron.com

I've never used it but I would be willing to come over this weekend to assess the job and put in my expert opinion.

jcalvin,
nice wrought iron fence, you will have to paint it every so often.

I put in a white pve fence on my porch. reinforced with aluminum its plenty sturdy and won't rust. Works for me.

I priced iron cause my neighbor is a good friend who deals that stuff, but his price to get it and paint was about double the cost of pvc.

For the View I would use a glass panel, but the fence looks nice also.
Send us the after Photos.

I have not used that exact product but we have used Ameristar Montage fencing quite a bit. They seem to be very similar products. (http://www.ameristarfence.com/).

Overall the product seems very sturdy and I would not hesitate to use it for this application. I have installed several on top of modular block walls (6'-10') high and have never had a callback or problem.

Just make sure the pavers are ancored properly before you install any kind of fence or railing. I have seen a few railings break right off with pavers together.

the fence won't be attached to the pavers....it will be red headed into that seawall, it's 14" thick

Fortress is a very nice product and a sturdy product, it meets the sideload code and has a bottom post flange that is easily anchored to your seawall

We have used it in 2 story applications and it has held up really good
