Adding 12" To Casions
adding 12" to casions
I'm adding 12" to existing deck casions where a landscaper has raised the dirt and covered the deck posts. The post have rotted so we are cutting them above the damaged bottoms and raising the casions. The subcontrator will be mixing the concrete by hand on site. My concern is this... i don't want the the new portion of the casions to fail in the future. What kind of concrete mix should he use... I am concerned with honey combing and cracking where water may get in and cause the casion additions to fail. Should he use aggregete in the mix... or is just sand ok? would anyone suggest a concrete recepie? any other tips? thanks in advance! |
