Wood siding projects
Here are a few wood siding jobs I've done over the years. Seems to be a dying breed. Still a few here and there though.

Tom, are those brackets wrapped in metal too? If so, that had to take awhile huh? Beautiful job, BTW. I like the transition from the different siding types.

Ditto, very nice work. I'm jealous though, don't get too much of that up here, I guess the Canadian winters are too hard on wood exteriors.

me either Katoman ive only dont a few wood jobs over the last few years, too expensive, maintenance scares people plus most neighborhood have all vinyl natural wood sometimes is out of place there
but the older i get the more i appreciate the natural materials something timeless about them, they age get mouldy and peel sometimes but they always seem to keep there charm old vinyl just looks dirty IMHO.
Plus there's a certain amount of fun installing them ,very relaxing to me
LF in the set of pics with the vertical siding was that a Lindal home? or custom built?Very nice

Thanks, not bad for a 79 dollar jobsite camera. I've been happy with it.

That's funny wood exteriors are very common in Maine and about all you see on the nicer houses. Down here in Maryland it seems to be all Vinyl as cedar doesn't hold up and no one wants to pay for redwood. By the way VERY!!! nice work LF the cedar shingles are a pain to do. Last Cedar job i did was Eastern white cedar that was radially cut and came from somewhere in New england. All vertical grain. We backprimed and put 3 coats of Marine Cetol on it to finish. There was about 6000 square feet exposed. The finish was over a hundred bucks a gallon and we went through 2 55 gallon drums. Nice work again

Who was the architect on this house; moreover, who was the owner to pass that design? That lookout looks horrendous... Build that into the design, don't just add it to it. With full respect the siding on the jobs you have listed looks good... But wow, really with that ridiculous turret?!!!

I just build whats on the plan, I'm not fond of the look or the amount of work required to put it there. I will say however, from the inside looking out, it's a different story. There are several buildings on the waterfront that sport this look.

I especially like the two gangplanks. Did you have to make any of your guys walk them?
