Window Install Questions

I'm curious as to to how you guys handle pricing inquiries from GC's or HO's.

TO be more specific:

Do you guys provide break downs such as:

it's xxx to remove existing window & xxx to install the new window

or

do you you state: it's xxxxxxxx to remove old and install new

Package pricing baby. Itemized proposals upon request. Last time I broke down a proposal I was only awarded the contracts on the items I was cheaper on. Had my arm twisted for the rest. Spent days held up by other subs.

That's what I have been doing. I just ran into a situation with a GC that I thought was strange. It's a former forclosure apt bldg. being converted into "luxory condos" 30+ boarded up openings ranging from 3'x3' to 12'x6'. Part of my scope is to install glassblock window panels in all the boarded up openings. The GC wants a break down of labor costs to remove boards & glass install.

IMO, a window install includes removal of the old and installation of the new and should be quoted as one price. It is not like a kitchen remodel or something where it makes sense to break things down.

lump sum. Used to list everything, then they say things like " why do you charge $10 to remove the storm window"? "Is that something i can do"?
