I think Pella's got the patent on that deal. Or at least they did, I've seen some ThermaTru doors with built-in blinds.

Re: Window Companies

I just posted some links for this on JLC a few days ago.

I'll be right back.

I'm Back.

Just did a search and found this site.

Click on the Blinds and Shades Between the Glass, link.

http://www.tailormadewindows.com/index.htm

I found another brand that does a comparison against Pella on their website.

http://www.heatkeeper.com/

And here is another one:

By the way, Eagle Windows was bought out by Anderson and they offer it too.

I'll confirm that sunrise offers it, however I'm not a fan of their products.

It may have been missed, since it was an edit at the bottom of my previous post. I don't know diddly about windows, but I do know how to search.

Re: Window Companies

MAKE SURE MAKE SURE MAKE SURE that you have eagle quote the window before you promise anything to the customer. Eagle does blinds and shades between the glass, however in many cases adding blinds and shades will limit you on what you can do with other features on the windows. So make sure you tell them what you want to make sure its possible before you bid the job.

In response to Ed, Luckily, the only thing Andersen has done to Eagle is offer low-e/4 glass and truscene screens. Thankfully, the plan is to let eagle pretty much keep running as a separate company. We HATE Andersen, but we LOVE Eagle.

Even though Eagle is a national company, I feel like I am dealing with a mom & Pop operation when I deal with them.

Re: Window Companies

If you are in the Midwest the Crestline brand from Menards also does build in blinds on their casement windows. I just installed four double hung Crestline windows and for the price they are a great window. I would recommend them to anyone. If you have a Menards close by Crestline is an exlusive brand for them like MasterCraft doors.

this thread is'nt real....oh wait...it IS real BUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Rugby: here's the 411 on Maynerd- IF their store carries the product, you can be dang sure it's bottom teir/bottom barrel. They understand and cater to DIY's that have no clue and live under the mentality "it's better than what we have now" even though i have no clue as to what "better" really means
