Window Caulking
I've been using Sidewinder caulking for my windows at $4.33 per tube (case price) for the last year or so. I just found a vendor that sells caulking for $2.98 a tube (case price). Has anyone had good or bad luck with this product: http://www.xtrabond.com/products/xb9500.html
2nd question, they also sell it in 55 gallon drums, what would you do with a 55 gallon drum of caulking?

Buy a pneumatic caulking gun.
And do a lot of caulking.

What do you do, hook the gun up to the 55 gallon drum? I can't imagine how heavy the hose would get.

Yes, there are commercial rigs that
work that way.
There are also pumps to fill bulk
guns from 5gal. pails, up to 55 gal. drums.

For that price I would really recommend finding a vendor like Reese who sells Solar Seal. It's easy to color match and one of the best caulks available.

Doug, where are you getting it from? Is it direct? How well does it match window vinyl. We use tremsil now, but its pricey. The guy I used to sub for used to buy us pretty good stuff dirt cheap by the truck load, I gotta look into this. Im tryin to save dough where I can. Window Caulking is a HUGE line item for us Also looking for bulk nails, both trim nails and siding nails

I also recommend Solar Seal. Some of the best sealent I have ever used. I just ordered 5 cases of it.
It comes in so many colors and they have taken the time to match most for you already...

Patrick, this is the guys info:
Jacob Killingbeck
Premier Industrial Supply, Inc.
Phone : 623-780-3160
The only issue I have with them so far is that you need to order 10 cases in order to get free shipping. The caulking cases are 24 tubes....that's a bunch of inventory (IMHO). I ordered 10 cases of caulking and a couple cases of their spray foam for around windows and doors. Jacob is sending me a sample roll of their window flashing tape. I'm a little picky when it comes to flashing tape, I like the stuff that sticks in the winter.
The paintstore.com (the people that run ads here) are a good source for Polyseamseal caulking and tarps.
Now I need to find a vendor for stainless steel screws, I paid $63.00 for a small (2lbs?) box of SS white trim screws last week.

Is it a modified poly or silicone?
Who are you buying it from?

Thanks, We'd blow through 240 tubes like nothin between windows, siding, and patio doors.
Let me know how the flashing tape is. The tamko stuff don't even stick in the summer
ABC supply is sometimes good with the screws, or Petit tool and gutter supply. I also have a hook up with Serva-Lite

Patrick, we currently use the Protecto Wrap from HD, it sticks rather well. The best is the Pella tape but they went from $5.00 a roll to I think $15 a roll (3.5"x33'). Last year a vendor send me a couple giant rolls as samples that worked great but they never followed up asking for an order. I wish I could figure out who they were since the tape worked great.
I'll have to look into ABC, I know they are in my area but not sure where they are hiding.
