White Cedar Installation Price

Hey Guys,

My Co. is just starting to get more into cedar siding installation.
What is a good rate per sq. to give to builders for labor only ?? We have a bid to go out soon on cedar shingles with a 4 inch exposure, lots of dormers and jogs etc. They are supplying everything.
Thanks,
Tom

4" exposure? Odd, but to each his own. That small of an exposure, small area, dormers.....a lot. $500/sq to start. Figure through the windows of course. I charged 250 a few years back and got hammered on it. Very, very time consuming.

WOW $500 per square!!! Can I have a job!!! J/K Square rates suck. On chopped up jobs, I usually figure on how many hours it will take. Be realistic though, and pad you hours. Big open production jobs are good to figure by the square.

I do alot of cedar/shake work.typiclly price for materials and labor will run in the 350-400 a sq range.

ie: nailite roughcut shake runs $250 per sq. and i charge $150 for labor.
if u have alot of chop then you will want to up it by 50-100.

it does take time to install and installing it is easy, installing it right is the rough part.
