What Replacement Window Would You Recommend For A Shower Area?

A neighbor has asked for an opinion on which replacement window he should use for the shower area. It is a 36x30 window. He had all the windows replaced in the past but this one has been problematic as water from the shower splashes against it and causes pitting of material internal along with problems of mold.

Glass block or a vinyl awning work well in that opening. I've never seen a vinyl window "pitted" from being in a shower.

I have installed several Marvin Integrity all fiberglass units in bathrooms/shower/tub area.

All were awnings too.

I think one of the problems with windows in general is that many of them have flat surfaces in which water can rest ultimately resulting in mildew. Finding a window that avoids this problem seems to move in a better direction.

I agree with WarnerContr. Integrity windows from Marvin seem to work well, although I've never seen a vinyl window that was pitted. I've seen vinyl windows with mildew that was hard to remove.

I like Marvin fg as well, but I don't follow your logic here. What exactly about a vinyl window would make it any more likely to accumulate mildew than a fg alternative?

You might be right. I don't think there is anything about vinyl that attracts mildew more. I've just never noticed a fiberglass window with mildew, but that doesn't mean it's not possible. I've seen lots of vinyl windows with mildew that wouldn't come off easily even with bleach and water, but the same might be true of fiberglass in that situation.
