Vinyl Siding Guys


are you guys charging less for tear off's now due to the economic conditions?
i am charging 50 bucks a square for wood shingle tear off and 20 bucks per square for vinyl or alliminum?
the i charge an additional 500 for the dumpster.
you guys in the same ballpark?

This is pretty much what we charge. Make sure to cover dumpster fees and charges whatever they are. Sometimes if I'm not sure I'll just tell the HO that they can pay cost and give them an idea what it is going to be.

Are you doing any less work? Did food or gas become any less expensive to you due to the economic conditions? I am going to assume your answers to those questions are "no" so why should you lower your rate?

All of our rates have gone up due to the additional cost of everything, mainly gas. Last contract negotiation we got approx. 15-20% more accross the board, doing subcontractor work. Although I was shooting for 30%. Kid's gotta eat, man. Still working though. General contractor's are going up too, have you noticed what aluminum has done recently?

I hope you are keeping that Aluminum siding for the scrap yard, thats considered clean metal and is worth your time taking it in. Charge for removal, charge for disposal and pocket what you get for scrap.
