Vinyl Cutting Tables?
Anyone have pics of their table they cut siding on?
Ours is basic.. maybe 8-10' long, 12" wide, 2x2 along the front and back with 1x4 guide set up across the 2x2 for the saw to run through. Just made from scrap since we mostly do framing, but I know someone who does full-time siding has to have some pictures of theirs that's built lighter/to last longer. |

Re: Vinyl Cutting Tables?
I use one of these. You permanently mount an old circular saw to it with the blade guard ripped off. I then took the whole set up and mounted it on an old wooden ladder and then covered it with plywood which gets sacrificed and has to be replaced every couple years

Thats the link to the picture out of the catalog. I took that whole setup and mounted it on an old wood ladder. I think it cost like $70 from my siding supplier. We use it for cutting soffit and siding where there are no seams and you have 4 or more pieces that are going to be the same length. when you get up to the gables you just make a template line it up on the saw put a nail on the table and then you have your angle mark. The problem with a large miter saw is that it wont cut the shallow roof angles. This saw will let you cut the most shallow roof angle. The saw that I attached to it was a old cheapo craftsman circular saw with a plywood blade in it. The saw does everything the $800 dollar table does for a small fraction of the price |

I use the Tapco EZ-Angle, it is the second from the bottom in Patrick's link above. I think it is being replaced by a newer model, I see them every so often on eBay and various other auction sites, as well as the local trading times papers. I like it, does a great job and is accurate.

Re: Vinyl Cutting Tables?
Thanks for the info and the link guys, I did not know these things existed, bit money saver over a normal cut saw but still I can see makes cutting a lot easier.
Take care, Dave |

Re: Vinyl Cutting Tables?
i use the ryobi 8 1/4 radial inserted into a aluminum insulated 3 1/2" piece of the patio room wall board. saw slides in and gets clamped off. i wrapped all four edges with the aluminum extrusion and a 1"x 1" L extrusion as a fence. ill take pics and post em. every vinyl guy who has seen it loves it. it can get trickey doing the gable cuts but it work well once you figure it out. light weight and breaks down easy. i used to use the tapco ez cut or whatever its called but this thing i use now takes the cake .
