Tearing off EIFS (stucco)

So I have to remove about 3 sq of stucco on my next project. I did a search and couldn't find any quick tips on tear off. SO I am wide open to suggestions on the easiest way to tear off? Thanks

what do you mean by removing 3 sq of stucco? do you mean 3 inch efis stucco? Depends what's under the foam. If you find plywood, it should be all screwed in to it. If cement blocks its glued to the wall. In that I would use hammer and take it down from the sides. Later just rotary hammer to take down the remains of cement that was glued in to the wall. Hope it helps

If it's foam over plywood you likely will be replacing the plywood too. I've seen many jobs doing dryvit repair, all of them required replacement of sheathing and in some cases, structural framing repairs. These were in a coastal area which may have worsened the problem. What's the deal with your job?

It is over plywood. I am worried about the cond. of the plywood and the structural framing, which I warned the HO about. 3 sq. means 3 square. I peeled alittle off today and found it held on with screws as stated above. Thanks for the input.

Don't be surprised if you hit mold behind the plywood if it is stucco.

Take a long proble moisture meter (not a cheap surface reader) to check around the and under the windows and below any second floor openings. Most windows are not installed properly and the Dryvit can hold in all the moisture that gets inside.
