Strikemaster Worth It?

I need to beef up some door jambs in a condo unit where there have been break-in problems by kickin' in the doors.
I looked at the Strikemaster II but that is really high, $110.00 bucks!
What do y'all suggest? I was thinkin' bout just getting an 8 or 9" strike plate with 6 long screws, $5.00 bucks.

I'd like to do an "almost impossible to kick in door" type of job but also keep it reasonably priced cause this could get me in the door (no pun intended) to being their go to guy for future work.

IMO, after you do this,
the door will give way.
Unless you are beefing up
the slab, you are just wasting
money beyond this.

I'm gonna put on a door edge reinforcement too.
If not, like you say, fix one part & the other will give in.
Do y'all think the strikemaster is all it's cracked up to be?

Well, I agree that it would be virtually impossible to kick in. I don't like the lack of a separate strikeplate--the latch will eventually wear the paint off and that area will be ugly. I saw it for $85, btw. Still pricey.

I think you'd be good to go with your 8-9" plate with long screws into the framing, along with one of those wraparound plates on the slab.

Yep, I'm leaning toward that.
