Stormdoors
I have a customer who wants a Low-E argon storm door. I can only find one door with Low-E. I tell them this and they say that is fine. Their main concern is blocking the sunlight that that fades the carpet. I can find several doors that have insulated glass. Will the insulated glass do the same thing as the Low-E. Any suggestions where I might find a door/brand that is a full view clear glass 32"x80" storm door that will block the UV rays.

Re: Stormdoors
Just sell them a single pane door and put tint on the glass.

Re: Stormdoors
In order for your customer to get a low-e/argon storm door you would neeed to find a double pane door. To incorporate the argon gas you need a space between two glass panels. However, you can get a single pane storm door from Provia, www.proviadoors.com, and they have low-e as an option on their glass panels. I used one on a Fairlington job this past January for the same reason your customer requested, to reduce the ulta-violet ray penetration causing fading. As a bonus, storm doors qualify for the stimulus tax credit.

Re: Stormdoors
Larsen and west window corp offer insulated glass storm doors and low-e/argon is available for the unit make up,however if single glazing is required or needed the use of laminated safety glass has the inter layer of plastic that blocks ultaviolet rays which cause fading and such, hope this helps
