Ick, I know what you mean, I was doin good till the started chaning things around on me. We get the economy soffit, "snow" and "snow J" and white coil. Seems ok. We just finished a white house today. tommorow we will be wiping all the finger prints off

I agree. I can normally get it come out looking good but lately I just order some aluminum j-channel and screw it together using 1/2" hex screws. It looks better and you can split the seems etc.

I did a porch a couple weeks ago that was an older restaurant patio on a golf course. It was 48x48 and had all kinds of lights and sprinkler heads etc to cut around. Paid great though because I only had to cut the lengths of the final row of beaded panel.

Re: Soffit

Heads up on using grey back economy soffit. We have had 3 Alcoa jobs warp out under patios. The new unpublished installation for this product requires a nailer every 12 inches instead of 16. If your not specifying exactly what soffit you want you may be getting economy and paying for premium. This was the case of these 3 jobs sent out from Lansing Building Products last year.

Oh YUP! No Doubt!!! I didnt specify. We ONLY use economy soffit on regular soffits 8-20 inches, and thats it. We use 2" beaded on porches and patios. The one thing thats always made me nervous about economy soffit is that its painted not solid vinyl.

Re: Soffit

I started running my furring strips on 12" a couple years ago. The weath goes from 0 to 100 here and It was giving me problems bubbling up.

I think you should always run 12" centers...
