Siding: Porches with Soldier

I am fairly new to the bidding side of vinyl siding. I have been a spec home builder in the past, but new construction has slowed down. This has led me to pick up some sub-work.

I have a new construction siding job as a sub to the contractor. I am ok with the soffit and fascia, but I am having trouble figuring the best way to price out the porches. I went back and looked at some old bids I had received from subs in the past, but couldn't figure out how they priced the porches. It didn't make any sense from one bid to the next.

The rear porches were larger had soldiers and were priced almost half (6.50 per sq. ft) of what the smaller front porches were with no solders (10.50).

So how should I price the front and rear porches. What are you guys charging for sub work on the porches. This in Southeast Alabama.

anyone?

Maybe just pricing per sq. or per coil on the job is the best way? What do you guys think?

Post bidding

Yeah, I know what I will have in the material and overhead. I guess I can just add a percentage over and above. I was thinking there might be a more time efficient way to do the bids.

The first one will take longer to bid but if you track your hours spent on it then maybe you can come up with a square foot price to fit you for the future
