I haven't read this thread for a few weeks. But from what I recall. The nailing hem doesn't rest against anything between the metal furring rails. Is that correct?
ETA: Just reading back and i see this

As far as installing siding on new construction goes and installing the siding before drywall goes on, all the manufactures warn against doing this and will null and void their warranties if buckling occurs because the drywall was not installed.
|
Can you source this for me? Install the insulation and siding BEFORE the drywall? Really? Im sorry but in 30 plus years I have never once saw this type of scheduling.

actually they are talking about loading the drywall evenly around the outside walls of the house while the siding is being done, not that it necessarily be installed

I really don't see the point in this. Most problems with siding buckling are caused by conventional framing lumber shrinking at the floor levels. Loading drywall will not prevent this, nor have I ever seen it done this way.

its in alcoa handbook what they mean is not to over load say 1 outside wall then side it ,when the weight is removed there could be buckling.
thats my take on it
It has never been an issue for me that i remember

Thanks Tom, that makes a bit more sense.
Personally, if the drywall was improperly loaded in one of my homes, I'd be more concerned about the framing than the siding. Its very rare that we insulate a home before siding and only once have we started drywall before siding.

This siding master guy must be real new to the forum scene otherwise he would know this type of stuff has already been tried many times before.
So obvious....
If I was to bid installing this system my labor numbers would be close to twice those without it.

Your post has just destroyed any remote possibility that ever existed for me to consider looking into this system.
Sleighting Master tries to sell this system on the point that I can hire incompetant help to install it. I promise you, the cost of the system can't possibly be worth the aggravation of unskilled labor and all the BS that goes along with it. No thanks, I'll install the traditional way with skilled carpenters by my side.

I see no value at all in you staying here and trying to pedal your siding gimmick any longer.
That post crosses more lines than a guy can count. Pack it up buddy you have no audience or friends here.
