Have you ever tried heating and bending a 5/4 x 4" piece instead of cutting it out of a 16" piece? I've seen it done but never tried it myself.
WWW, I have heated 5/4x6 and flat bent it to a 12" radius. The problem I found was that unless the piece is evenly heated, it's hard to get a consistant bend. I used a form made of plywood and 2x4s. If I could have, I usually cut the arches out of sheet goods, we have gotten 10' sheets in the past. I didn't go that route because of lack of space to set up a radius jig for the router. BTW, thanks man.

Re: The Siding Chronicles.

OK, it's really hot outside, so I let some of the small details go for now. Pretty much wrapped 'er up though. Thought I'd throw in a pic of the router with my radius base made out of, you guessed it, Azek. Used it to make my circle top window trim as well as the arched panel over the HVAC closet door. Typically, i would have used a plywood extension on this to do the garage door trims with 10' sheet goods, but didn't have space to set it up properly. Oh well.

Thanks Chris, that's a detail that is uncommon in this area. I get alot of interest in them. The cost difference over a square or clipped corner opening makes most folks shy away from them, but I think it's well worth the time and effort.

I put Correct Deck on the front porch/deck and planter boxes, but I'm considering a solid color deck stain, along with white vinyl rails.
As for the first floor, I'm doing corner details the same as the garage, as well as door and window surrounds. A frieze board under the soffit with some brackets isn't out of the question either. That all may have to wait till spring though.

Thanks Neo, you know as well as anyone what I put into this project. It's hard to stay motivated when you're putting in 45 hours on the jobsite, then coming home to this. I farmed the paint out to a friend of mine and his uncle, who is a painting contractor. Two coats of a satin house paint with a professional sprayer really did a nice job. I haven't found a spot in any of those nooks and crannys that got missed.

Thanks Dave. I could easily put another 3500 bucks worth of Azek on her and really dress her up, but priorities are priorities, so it'll have to wait for now.

Hallelujah, brother! I have a list as long as BOTH of our arms that I should be getting done here... and it just keeps getting longer. No energy when I have work, and no money when I don't. My hat's off to you.

Now you can sell it and move on to another. After moonrise.
