That is what sucks about knowing what you're looking at. The little things eat at you, and the tedious custom work makes you proud. The average Joe doesn't see either one.

Yep, twelve years later and I still have a few things to do.
They say perfectionist's never finish anything.
And procrastinators..........well never mind.
Yeah, average Joe's can't see but my wife does. Damn............

Re: The Siding Chronicles.

Whenever my house gets finished, it gets sold.
Wife not in such a hurry to finish anymore.
Always a piece of trim here or there that doesn't get done. Its a running joke now.

I guess I've been labeled then. My plan is that eveything will get finished at the same time, so nothing gets a finish coat of paint until the carpentry is complete. Then, viola, she is fini.

Re: The Siding Chronicles.

I've been watching.
Lot's of up and down ladders
all day, leaves an old guy
kind of worn out in the evening.

Last night was an anniversary of sorts.
Spent some time watching TV,
trying to remember what a 21 year old
thought of all the goings on
that night 40 years ago.

When complete, the corners will have a recessed panel design with a nice base and capital detail.
Yup that should look sharp! I really haven't worked with a whole lot of azek around here, just some occasional stuff. Its deffinetly nice to work with, I just look like a marshmallow at the end of the day I'm pumped though I have a decent size job coming up redoing and recreating a bunch of trims on a house.

Dave
Careful Dave, use of Azek can be habit forming and should come with a warning from the Surgeon General in regards to it's addictive properties.
That being said, always check for white powder residue around your nostrils before entering any business establishment after working with Azek.

Just need to correct the record here. That's my moon, and I'll thank you appropriately when it's been carved to the proper specs.

Neo can provide the Sears Roebuck catalog.

It is a 2668 door, send me an appropriate template and I will fashion it out of 1/2" Azek to your design specifications.

Oh no, you're not getting off that easily. In order to prove that you really are the genuine article, you are required to produce a product meeting or exceeding the expectations laid out in HO Mindreading For Dummies, Vol XXIIV. If you can't, we'll know you've been faking it all along.

Re: The Siding Chronicles.

Here is todays installment, time to get my trim on. Used a plywood template with a guide bearing bit to make the arched trim. I had to get 16" wide Azek for the garage door head and jambs, luckily, my local yard stocks it.

Re: The Siding Chronicles.

And here is todays end result. I still have a few minor details to take care of, but the bulk of the work is complete.
