Worked with a lefty once, came in handy at times - I reach out right, he would reach out left. Cool.

I'm the lefty. You're right, it can be dangerous.Guys that aren't used to a lefty on the job get surprised with an unexpected hammer swing sometimes.

Thanks Dave, I really like doing the arched openings, I got tired of the clipped corners and the squared corners don't have much pizzazz. I can't wait to get trim on this.

That would definitely be an eye-catcher Gus, just don't know how to make orbs out of Azek yet.

I may have to start a new thread for suggestions on the finish on the parapet wall. So far I got boobs and bud light. Any others?

You need to make a Statement. What's your [wishful] self-image? I'm a sort of Fistful of Dollars guy, myself.

To keep your mitre intact you just have to offset the double-J or H-bar.

We all know how much you love curves. What better way to show your love for the beautiful shape of a graceful curve than two nice profiles of the female breast?

I also like Rory's idea about the beer sign.

Why not both. Think of the possibilities. You could call it the Double D Bar. Or Buds and Boobs. Or Rack of Beer.

Just brainstorming.

Don't even get me started if you build a big deck on that building.

How about "BEERS, BOOBS AND DECKS"?
I guess I should check with zoning to see if permanent signage is allowed before I get my hopes up.

Re: The Siding Chronicles.

Here's a few pics of flashing details with Azek trim. The door trim is plowed out 3/4x3/4 to receive siding. An L is tucked into the groove to form a J-channel. The rest of the trim, corners and arched openings will get a 1/2" overlay to cover the siding edges. An L-flashing is used in the same fashion here. It is cut about every 8" or so on the arch to form the curve, then coved with a bead of elastomeric caulk to seal the snips. The bottoms of the windows get flashed over the nail hem of the siding.

That is looking great

What kind of results are you getting with the contest for the paraput design?

No action on the "Name that parapet" so I'll just have to see how it goes tomorrow.
