Scratched Glass

I have worked with two large contracting companies this last month on scratched glass issues. This is becoming more of a problem as time passes. It usually is due to the presence of fabrication debris embedded in the tempered glass surface. No one knows it is there. So when the glass is cleaned the microscopic pieces of glass (fab debris) are broken off and dragged. The size of the scratches, their pattern, and the extent of them differs from one situation to another. I just wanted to help everyone along a bit. This can be a VERY expensive problem. The simple way to test for it is to wet a clean surface with some soapy water and drag a razor across it. You should hear nothing. If it somes rough like sandpaper you have fab debris. The windows should be tested before purchasing.
