Scaffolding Options For Install Vinyl In Narrow Space

I have to install vinyl siding on 3 sides of a house. 1 Side has about 21 inches of space between the 2 houses.

Im 99% my AlumApole wont fit through the space.

What are my options?

I would guess if your careful 22" should be enough to set up your scafofding. you might have to remove your ladder stand though.

Pump jacks? Not sure how wide they are, but you might be able to rent a set that fits.

I hope you bid it real real real high for the PIA factor.

I've seen guys lean extension ladders against the neighbor's building and use ladder jacks in that case. I know, it's darned near standing straight up, but it seems to work out for some. It's not like your ladder's going to slip.

Pump jacks are designed to carry as much as a 24" wide plank extended so if it were closed its got operable for 21". Remove the back bench.

How long is the side of the house ? If you could set up your pump jacks on the outside corners and get a long Alum. Scaffolding Walk Plank, I think I've seen them up to 28' long.

If you take the ladder rack portion off the pump jack, you will have better access and maneuverability. Pump jacks are the most efficient even if it takes a little extra time to take the jack apart, I believe it is only two bolts.

"A" frame ladders? You didn't say how high you have to go. Maybe build some A-frame style supports to fit between the houses. What about using extension ladders sideways and achoring them to the house somehow, one ladder at each end to support the pick running right through the rungs?

Talk about being able to reach out to your neighbors. You could darn near work through the neighbors windows....
