pricing fiber cement siding

I need help in pricing labor only. The siding is a replacement for the old asbestos siding. It is 1' by 2' panals. Thanks.

This question is not answered as far as I can see. Can anyone point me to a post that has labor costs for fiber cement REPLACEMENT siding?

Siding labor reply

The only way to bid a James Hardie siding project for labor is to show the install pro what he has to perform. Normally it ranges between 145 and 200 a square based upon what panel is being used and what the job specifically entails. Shoot me a little more info and I would be glad to discuss more details with you. I am a install pro for all aspects of exterior remodeling, including fiber cement, insulated super vinyl, commercial metal adapted to a residential atmosphere for permanent results.

I am removing old T-111 woodgrain siding. Installing tyvek house wrap. Replacing with james hardie wood grain 4x9 panels, and trimming it out with 1x4 miratec trim on frieze, corners and top and bottom of windows. Advice on subcontractor labor prices would help. thanks for your reply.

Miratec.. Have you used this before?? We stopped carrying it, lots of callbacks.. Azek and Koma two options of better quality in my opinion.

As for labor, install usually goes for around $200 a square (new construction) add in your tear-off. Keep in mind I am in Northern NJ where everything costs a bit more..

You are going to hate installing that 4x9 Hardi panel, it is heavy, brittle and just doesn't look finished along the verticle edges since it is just caulked, not lapped like T-111

For value for the customer, they would be better off to put Hardi lap siding over the T-111. The money saved on the tear out could be used to pay for the extra costs on the siding.

Kylemfk , miratec?

What kinds of complaints have you had about the miratec? List them all, thanks.
