Prices

hey, im new in here and ive read alot on pricing. Alot of you guys wrote that they charge $140.00 per sq for siding? i don't know where they live but in massachussetts thats way to cheap. I buy all my stuff from harveys and one sq of cheap siding is 79.40 a sq. and a 24" x 50' roll of aluminum is $80.00 and they said they charge $120- $130 per roll.

$60.00 bucks is really not alot to install a sq. plus starter strip, j channel, undersill ect. i'd get like only 40.00 bucks

and
40 or 50 bucks to bend and install aluminum i couldn't ever pay for my brake that cost $2000.00 plus extra toys.

anyone who lives in mass have any other rates per sq ???

thanks steve

140 is probably labor only (or it does not include the cost of J channel, corners, etc...)

Window, door & fascia trim are always an add on - generally done by LF

Mass rates vary based on area, city, town, country, etc...

The only right price can only be determined by what you need to make a living, pay your overhead costs, etc... as mentioned in most of the other pricing posts

79.40 off the street pricing at Harveys is gonna get you Carvedwood which is a premium product. Pricing per sq in MA goes anywhere from 300-1800/sq depending on who you are, what your using, and how nice of a job you do

Re: Prices

Rather than have small item extras we chooses to use a flat amount of $ 600 per square as some others have mentioned. As a flat fee, that covers material, albor and options.

Re: Prices

I'm at 2.00/sq. ft. materials and labor. Some guys around here are as low as 1.60/sq.ft.

That's siding only. I pay my subs .55/sq. ft. labor only. The less skilled guys will take .40/sq. ft but you get what you pay for.

YIKES Did you have to lower your prices with the economy? The guys on craigslist are getting at least $3 around here.

Re: Prices

I just priced a Cedar Impression job. It's about 32 squ not including soffit or trim wrap, that's about 2 squ soffit and 6 rolls coil. The price I gave was around $17,000.00. To little or to much? Thanks for your advice.

thats remarkably cheap. you cannot be in the north east with that price.yu have to get at least 20k and thats cheap.i'd be getting about 22-24 for that job. i'm sure Patrick would agree.

Re: Prices

one quick point regarding my price. we do a very good job especially the aluminum wrapping. we actually wrap our windows to look like a lineal. we do not use J around the windows. its a very clean look.

Re: Prices

Standard .042 vinyl siding is $340 with 1/4" fanfold, tyvek & mounting blocks. Tear off, windows capping, soffit fascia, is extra.

I will be substantially raising our price in March and will be promoting the pre-insulated .044 as our standard. If they want cheaper, we can downgrade material. I'll also be tossing probably an extra $50 on each square just for fun. I expect to be about $450 plus tear off, windows capping, soffit fascia come next spring. I'm competing against guys doing it for $200 on a regular basis.

We don't do very much siding anymore, so I figure it can't get much worse Might as well make a killing when we do it since I feel we do a better job than most of the guys around here. Ie: Nobody seems to want to install a weather resistant barrier like Tyvek, and I won't install a siding job without it. We'll also add on some things into that $50 like "free" taping of all tyvek seams and around all penetrations, windows and doors.

Oh to the question about how much to charge for the cedar impressions... Triple your labor vs standard clapboard vinyl. That'll cover your added labor and then some for profit.
