How much do you pay your sub for install.of vinyl siding and soffits(per SF)?
Is price $140 per install.roll of coil enough?

Siding - $1200 per square
Metalwork - $975 per roll

Sometimes this changes with the going rate.

Pay depends on factors such as 1.Bonded and Licensend 2. Experience and equipment. Plygem who owns Alcoa,Mastic,Veiform and Napco has set labor $85.00 - $125.00 per sq on vinyl siding, $2.25 per lf for soffit and facia. Certainteed has a simalar labor price. Our subs wont work for this amount.

Going rate? There is no going rate... there is only two things... what you charge, and what a company will pay - provided you sub for someone else.

Only you can determine whether you will work for their rates or not..

Personally, I think many of them pay quite well to the guy who knows what he is doing... Sears pays 110.00 per square and 5.00 per lineal foot for soffit and fascia... that's GREAT money for the trained mechanic - especially since you dont have to deal with the headache of dealing with anal retentive homeowners...lmfao.

I HAVE heard of being paid by the roll for trim work - to me, its a rip off to the installer, due to the fact that trim is NEVER the same on any given job. Brick mould? I feel like I invented the term, I was billing for it with companies like Champion, back when no one knew why I was even making it!.....lmao...

Window wraps need to be 35.00 each...45.00 for door wraps....75.00 for sin gle garqage, 100.00 for double. This covers any complications or weird bends which may arise... you NEED to make money. The big companies come close to this - just a bit shy, but still tempting for the guy who needs it...working for yourself, you need to take their prices and slash 25-30 percent off all to be fair and make a good buck... You'll come out a bit ahead of what their installer's make - which is great money - unless you run into a pricker homeowner - then go double, or give the job to sears, they dont care about having to forclose and waiting 6 years for their money - you'l still get pid...

Sometimes I feel like I know too *******ed much for what I have to show for it!....welcome to the group huh?....lmao

There are going rates set by manufacturers, insurance companies and contractors. These rates are included in the Contractor Estimating Guide and take into account the different regions of the country.

There is no going rate as stated above on bidding jobs, but there is a comparable rate for every area.

That's what I meant Easy, there are no rates, only what others will pay, you can have two companies right next door to each other, who pay differently for the same job - nothing is set in concrete, except for what you will work for - that's about it.

And in reality, those of us who are hard up will sacrifice just to py the bills - been there and still there... contracting is a fluid intuition, it's dynamic - not stagnant.

We need to stick together to make it work.
