Pella Window Instructions

Has anyone read the new pella instructions? There is a sections that says all building condtions and meathods are different and are up to the builder, arch.,home owner or whoever is the guy in charge to decide how these should be installed. It also says I have to install them per there installation instructions? So, which is it? Do I have to follow there way or because every job is unique, do I the builder decide which was is right for me? Could use some imput!

Re: Pella Window Instructions

We always follow the Pella installation instructions exactly when installing their windows. We've gone as far as to have a Pella rep insite during an installation of their special hurricane windows. They were so expensive that we didn't want any warranty problems later. We also took video and pictures of the installation of all 180 windows and had the Pella rep approve each window.

Sounds like a good way to get out of a warranty to me.

thats exactly why they do that, to get out of the warranty. i have not experienced this first hand but have heard of very poor service when pella windows encounter an issue. the company likes to play the blame game. stick with Marvin.

I sure do believe a Company would, even with minor install problems as no company wants or needs bad publicity. It offers them more to have their rep or independant contractor repair the problem & end up with 2 satisfied clients, the H/O & the Contractor.
No matter on the brand.

That's my take on this as well. I'd stick to Pella's install instructions.

FWIW: If you have a Pella Distributor in your area, you can ask about their training, to get certified in their window installations.
