Painting Faded Steel Siding

My dad took off the steel siding on his house for six years and finally put it back on. He did not put it back on in the order that he took it off. So he has noticable fading that he wants to restore. Anybody know a good way to restore the original white color?

I doubt its steel, probably aluminum. Scrub it with TSP and see if that helps. Greased lightning helps to get oxidation off. Liquid sander (home depot) might work but do a test area first. If its got black specks in certain places then its mildew and even scrubbing wont get it off but a bleach solution sprayed on will.

Re: Painting Faded Steel Siding

I think he's looking for a way to "restore" the existing finish without re-painting, not sure.
