Re: New Brake
The 12-6 brake would be awesome for windows. Thats all I do and I would give my right n## to be able to make 2 73" sides in one pull! Ive had my pro 19 for 8 yrs now and with things the way they are, I cant make myself spend any extra money. The sidewinder is the best thing since sliced bread!

Re: New Brake
I know this is an old post, but I am in the market for a brake. I've been looking for a decent used Tapco or Van Mark for awhile, with no luck. Everything is either too much $$ to justify used, or too far away. So I may purchase new. Online places have the Tapco's and Van Mark's, with no accessories for $1200-1400 with free shipping. Then I find the Aluma-Pole brand being sold by an ebay store for $1300, free shipping with all the slitters, table etc. I don't to a tremendous amount of siding, but have two big jobs coming up that justify the purchase. Does anyone have any real world experience with the Aluma Brake?
Thanks for any input! |

Re: New Brake
I have only seen the aluma pole break at a trade show. It seemed to be a very well build brake. Very easy to use especially with all the built in features. The only drawback I saw was it was heavy. At least heavier then the one i am using now.

Re: New Brake
most windows and doors trim i do the 10/6 works fine most rake trim needs 2 seams anyway i dont think the problem is the amount of seams i think its more how the seams are exacuted imo

Re: New Brake
I think I am going with the Aluma-Brake. The slitter alone makes it a better deal then a $1200-1300 Tapco 10'6 with $300-350 slitter added to it. Recession my ass, I'm personally bailing everyone out this year $$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!
