N. Dallas Area Handyman Needs Vinyl Help

Good morning,

I operate a handyman and home repair service and I have a client that has damage to the aluminum on an 8' to 10' section of the eave of their house. I think that new aluminum need to be broke and installed and the existing soffit panels re-installed.

The home is in North Dallas and is a pretty small project.

I am looking for someone that can make these repairs, and perhaps other work foe my customers as the need arises.

You can contact me at 469-774-2905

Unless the soffit is vinyl, you're looking for help with aluminum.

Re: N. Dallas Area Handyman Needs Vinyl Help

seams like a straight forward repair. why would you want to send another contractor there? you can buy a small siding tool @ a building supply and remove the soffit. or you can talk them into new soffits?

this is not beyond handyman

I agree with five star i would never give this small of repair to a second tradesman it is simple and no matter if it plastic or metal it installs easy. Why give money away.

He obvisouly doesn't have a break or fell like working of the ladder.

I gather a trim board and soffit blew off. All was recovered but the trim board is now all bent up and needs to be replaced. The soffit just needs to be popped back in and nailed.

I get these kind of jobs all the time from my network of other contractors. I call the "gems".

Re: N. Dallas Area Handyman Needs Vinyl Help

Thanks for the input guys, here is the deal.

I do not have a break and it is the trim that was pulled away from the fascia. It is still there but a bit mangled. The soffit vinyl is still there too, it is just pulled out of the j channel.

If I had a break, I am pretty sure I could do it, but alas... no break and it is only about 8'' to 10'.

Any ideas?

Skip, from this and the thread in General Discussion, I get the idea that you're pretty brand spanking new at this stuff. No big deal, we all had to start somewhere.

As others have stated above, this sort of repair is prime handyman material. You'll have a hard time getting any sort of specialist pro out for a job like that at any sort of "reasonable" price.

You could try taking the damaged piece to someone and have him make you up a replacement, or actually go and rent a brake to make it yourself. Moneywise, the former would be best. But it just might pay you to eat some of the cost of doing it yourself so that you gain experience for the next time.

Because there will be a next time. Lots of them, as a matter of fact.

break=verb
brake=noun

Is it just me or does bad grammar annoy others too?

Jus u

rent a brake, all costs are figured into the job, but my advise, if your going to be a handyman, a brake will be a very very important tool that will keep you busy in itself if you chose it to. That is how i funded my intial start up before leaving sub contracting, doing stupid cap work on the side.

I would'nt think anybody that does this for a living would be at all interested in this small of a job unless price was right...so rent the brake, buy some coil stock and get it done.

It's just you; I get along fine with grammar. Now, BAD grammar is another story.

But that wasn't bad grammar; it was a spelling misteak.
