Motorized Andersen Window Operators

I recently bought and installed some new Andersen awning windows. Customer wasn't electric/motor openers. The way Andersen used to do it (before 2013 - the last time I did them), all you needed to do was stick the motor over the operator/crank and it would turn the crank and open/close the window. Apparently, since then, if you want motorized windows, the electronics/motor are built into the side of the window. They don't seem to have an "official" way of adding a motor to an existing (post 2013) non-motorized window.
Question: Has anyone ever tried to put a motor that works on the older windows on a new window? I spoke to a rep at Andersen, and he doesn't see why this wouldn't work - supposedly they haven't made any changes to the awning window operators/cranks since 2013.
Also, these are a series of 4 windows mulled together, making retrofitting the newer style of motorized opening virtually impossible as the new motors fit on the side of the windows and there is not room since they are all virtually touching.
