Marvin Windows - Question

Hello all,

As a side business from my faux finishing company I buy out businesses. Latley with the economy in the toliet and it seems like it is getting worse daily I have been buying out a bunch...

Here is my question:

Yesterday I bought out a window and siding business and from that I got a slew of different sized windows, shutters, some moldings and copper flashing. I want to move this stuff but these were all special order windows. What would be the best way to sell these? I am asking because I would guess that a window company would not have a need for them, right? Should I just pop them on either craigslist or ebay or is it wise to make phone calls to window companies? The windows that I have are all (according to Marvin) under warranty.

Let me know, I figured that I would ask here first as I dont know that much about windows but I have a bunch and the deal was way to good to pass up.

Thanks
Rob

Re: Marvin Windows - Question

I live in Spring Valley Illinois about 2 hours SW from Chicago or about 1 hour from Peoria Illinois. I am also about 2 hours down I80 from Davenport IA. I started listing them on ebay but I think that I will also list them on Craigslist.

I come across so much material that sometimes it becomes overwelming. My problem I guess, normally with things like resturaunt equipment, I make a couple of calls and it is all gone. Last week I sold a beauty salon on my way home from buying it but windows are just too much of a new thing that I am dealing with. I just figured since I belong to Painttalk and ContractorTalk it may just be easier asking the pro's what would be best.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Marvin Windows - Question

All my suppliers have a list of windows and doors that were ordered wrong or customer backed out ect. Most all are under $200, patio doors $500. Might try habitat for humanity, I know they buy new materials that were ordered wrong and build homes around them. Good Luck.
