I don't, but if you tell us all
a bit about yourself, maybe
some one who does will help
you out.

Re: Instructions For Aluminum Coil Wrapping An Outside Corner Sill

First, I draw out how I want a single side of the sill to look like. If it’s a simple cap like shape ([), then I cut a piece of metal long enough for both sides of sill. I bend the metal, then I the measurement for 1 side for the top and bottom (so the middle is still there and can bend to fit corner). I place it on sill making sure it fits proper, then I mark my miter cut on the metal. I take it off, and cut the miter mark I made.
Things to note:
This way looks a lot cleaner imo. This is also easier if you got a crappy brake because you don’t have to worry about your metal coming out different sizes.
If your brake isn’t long enough, then you’re going to have to piece it. You just bend the metal about 3/4 inch bigger, then put on sill. Mark where it will hit other piece of metal. Cut along the bends so it’s still long but is cut where it needs to fold over to other side of sill. Put back on sill and fold the excess that needs folding over. Then install the second piece, but just miter to outside corner of sill to outside corner of window.
Things to note:
The top part of first metal will be square with sill, and the second will be a miter cut. Watch out for bending too much metal over other sill, because it will bump.
Make the miter in right place, or else there will be a hole between the metals.
Caulking in necessary, but if it looks like you need it, you probably didn't do your metal bending clean enough.

If 2 pieced, then the second piece's face should be 1/16th bigger so it doesn't buckle over top the first.

For PRO fessonal resultifications.

Well, 1/16th is too small of a lap. I usually do no less than 1/4'' no bigger than 1/2'' depending on what I am overlapping. I told him to make the metal 3/4 inches bigger because the side oppisite of corner is probably not square. I try to keep the metal and the other side tight if warm weather and 1/16th in cold weather. The little extra will save the pain of rebending a piece.

Sorry Dan Halen, but you're not comprehensible to my explainatives. The 1/16 bigger is on your face. You know the face. On a C bend there are three sides: 1--the out, 2-- the face, and D, I mean 3 the return. Like so......(Excuse the poor drawing)

1 Out
V
_____________
|
| < 2 Face
|______

^
3 Return

If the second piece was a 1/2" bigger on the face it would look like.....Well......

If they were the exact same size the second piece would buckle and look like ....Well......like some second rate tin snip put it on.

Anytime I two piece something and have to overlap a C bend, which the majority of my sills are C bends, I make the FACE of the piece on top 1/16 of an inch bigger so they overlap nicelywithout buckling, I wasn't trying to one up you or anything just trying to help out...with a friendly bit of edumutation.

Re: Instructions For Aluminum Coil Wrapping An Outside Corner Sill

No worries. I see what you mean, and I was taught that way. I just got called back to this one job that had 14 of those windows, and some the 1/16 things had popped out for some reason. I looked at a lot of the houses we did in the time period, and some had same problem. I learned that the unskilled werent table to properly install the sills. SO, I changed it to like 1/4, just a little bigger than a trim nail I tell them. I haven't seen any buldges yet (for another guy I had did it like that on same houses too). That really stinked... I went back and re wrapped 24 windows altogether.
