Installing Replacement Windows In EIFS Or Stucco
Recently I was in a company meeting trying to figure out a way to get around warranty issues with windows going into houses with EIFS and stucco on them. I install in the Chicagoland area and currently we will not touch a house that has EIFS. Stucco we will, but not as a full tearout. The orginal frame must stay undisturbed, just the sash and hardware are removed, greatly reducing the opening size. This can be an issue with h.o. wanting to keep their view. I was wondering what other guys are doing to get around warranty issues, or solving that fact that neither stucco or EIFS have proper drainage systems. I know EIFs suppliers have come a long way in addressing these issues but thats only been recently , and there is know sure way to know if a drainage system was installed properly. Any input would be appreciated .Thankx in advance . Steven
