Inside Corner Trim Fo Hardiplank ?


Residing a house with Hardiplank and Miratec trim. What is the best/ most popular material you guys have used for inside corners? Thanks

I first flash it out with some scrap coil stock. Then I use a 1x4.

Inside corner...install a 1x1 or 2x2 rip into the corner first (if its to be painted) then, you butt your pieces into that.

We usually end up using PVC type trim like AZEK, KOMA, etc for the trim boards - so we rip down the same type stock to 1x1's and use that.

Thanks for all of your inputs. I was thinking of using a ripped 2x2 cedar piece, but had seen that some guys use metal inside corners. I was concerned more about the paint holding up on the metal compared to the Hardi. Thanks again.

vinyl inside corners just dont seem to work well some guys here are using vinyl trim for corners .windows ,lineals ect. i dont get it tho,why not use vinyl siding then

very true tom, hardie to vinyl looks like crap, for the soffit ok, because the hardie soffit is a bastard to work with


the only vinyl around windows and doors should be the window or door itself, then run cape cod around it for the hardie to die into

We use white wood 2x2's.

White wood is a generic term around here for the preprimed exterior trim boards.

The brand our lumberyard carries is Real Trim by Woodtone. Link below.

ive had problems with the primed matierial windsor 1 is the one here with the finger joints blowing up even with priming the end cuts
