I need help--sales advice

when i go on an estimate, i first measue and make small talk,i then talk about the product and give them a price on the spot. sometimes this is all done while the homeowner and i are both standing up..should i sit him or her down? should i first sit with them and discuss the product? any idea's would be greatly appreciated.

My method is in this order;

1. Sell yourself - you won't get any further unless the client likes and feels comfortable with you.
2. Sell your company - they also need to be confident in the business you represent.
3. Sell your product

Good Luck
Dave

The only time I wouldn't sit down, if when I got there I didn't realy want the job. Then I do a quick quote and leave.
