How To Fix This? Window Problem

My supplier orders replacement windows for a customer. The customer wants bronze color outside. That color was only avalible in new construction so the supplier orders them and has the nail flange cut off, everything is fine but they did not sent the sill adaptor for the 15 degree slope on the sill. Now I have a 1 inch gap on the bottoms. They are vinyl windows with wood brick mold and sill. We just painted the house so my thought is to rip some Miretec boards down wedge them in and paint the board to match the trim. Any other ideas would help. Wraping the windows is out they want the trim painted same as house.

Re: How To Fix This? Window Problem

First off, if your supplier couldn't give you a bronze exterior replacement window, you should have gone elsewhere, there are tons of companies that do.

To solve your problem though, gennerally the sill expander/angle is the same color as the window. So, I would have them order you either aluminum or vinyl sill angle, in bronze if they have it, or get bronze trim coil, and make your own sill angle, ideally if you make it yourself you can hem both sides, and make it snug fit under the window, or embed it in a bead of hidden caulking, and screw it to the face of the window with bronze head screws. Make sure you insulate under the window if you haven't already.
