HardiPlank Cost

What is the going rate for installing Hardi? I am new to this stuff, I'm assuming it is similar to the stuff used under tile. We usually remodeling and additions. I am quoting a new victorian and the customer wants Hardi, can anyone help me out with pricing?

Paul

Re: HardiPlank Cost

$200 a square sounds reasonable. The instructions on their website sound time consuming.

Figure on buying the proper tools & blades as well.
I've only done a bit, but it's slow & tedious.

Re: HardiPlank Cost

Everyone I know that's ever worked with the stuff says the same thing...don't!

Look at the instructions for that stuff:
  1. Position cutting station so that wind will blow dust away from user and others in working area.
  2. Use one of the following methods:
    1. Best:
      1. Score and snap
      2. Shears (Pneumatic or Handheld)
    2. Better:
      1. Dust reducing circular saw equipped with a HardibladeŽ saw blade and HEPA vacuum extraction
    3. Good:
      1. Dust reducing circular saw with a Hardiblade saw blade (only use for low to moderate cutting)
