fiber cement board and plank labor costs

I am a contractor in Kansas City area and I am getting into fiber cement sales for replacement siding. I need to know what labor costs are in the area for fibercement board and fiber cement plank. 90% of the time I will be removing old siding before replacement so figure that into per square cost. Are there any additional labor costs I should know? Your replies would be appreciated. I just want to make sure my subs are getting a FAIR AND REASONABLE price. Thanks again.

Labor cost for fiber cement siding range from region to region, town to town from $110-$200 plus per square. Plus tear off cost. This can range from $30-$70 per square depending on who does it. Add in the dump fee as well. For instance in Minneapolis MN the going rate is around $160 per sq. plus tear off. Hope this helps!

Don't forget fiber cement is made of silica our local landfill charges us extra to dispose of due to the toxic nature of fiber cement.

And to perfectly illustrate the point... I'm in Minneapolis and I would laugh at a siding crew that wanted $160 a sq. to install Hardie.

That's a lot to read into one sentence. I have guys putting up Hardie just as fast as vinyl at about $100 a square. But all they put up is Hardie. They're real fast and do a great job.
You have a big mouth for someone that can't even price siding for himself. What reason would I pay more???

I know people that hang Hardie in Minnesota and they would laugh at you subs for hanging it for that price. They get from 185 to 250 per square. Make sure and read the warranty restrictions on Hardie Siding. I am sure they are real winners. Good luck with all that.

I already know how to price my siding but sometimes I communicate with other experienced contractors to be better informed.

Hardie Board vs Steel vs Masonite

This is a walkout basement house in southeastern Minnesota. (see photo)

After 16 yrs the Masonite siding board has failed on the north (right)

Homeowner is being offered about a $5K settlement from Masonite.

Homeowner wishes to consider residing with Hardie Board vs Steel while MAINTAINING THE HOME'S LOOK & FEEL

Home has 2800 sq ft of siding with Tyvek/Construction Board underneath.

Any suggestions? Cost/Pricing Suggestions?

Thanks

Hardiplank Sub Costs

I'm considering offering Hardiplank, and have already read the retail prices on this Forum. I'm interested in what is a fair price, siding, soffit, trim, tearoff, etc.. to offer a Sub-contractor. Any Suggestions?

2.00 a sq. ft. and we are certified labor only. It varies all over the country though.
