usually your aluminum extrusion supplier will offer estimating software for doing take offs and cut schedules, kawneer or vistawall,or ykk, etc.
we use the grier version or you can order glasspac. in the back of your crlaurence big red 33 book they offer estimating software too. |

Re: Estemating Storefronts, And Curtainwalls
I'm curious about this project we just restored. It was 6200 sq ft of High Performance Exterior Reflective Coated Glass. I'll attach a picture. What would it have cost, roughly to swap all this glass out? It was stained pretty bad and they wanted to tear the whole thing down and just put up a regular wall. I'm just curious as to how much we actually saved them by them not having it replaced. It's in Huntington Beach CA if that helps. Thanks for any assistance.

WinBidProd by GDS seems to be really great software to use. Haven't found anything better yet.

Re: Estemating Storefronts, And Curtainwalls
Looks like a job well done there! You saved them the cost of new materials and installation as well as your fee of demo on the existing structure. The fact that you could have made a hell of a buck in doing what they originally asked but instead were honost (rare) and suggested something cheaper and more cost efficient you more than likely just got yourself repeat business! As far as actual cost and savings that has a lot of variables such as material used what you charge for labor, etc. I believe you and that company did the right thing in just replacing the glass.

Kawneer Partner Pak.
demichelegroup.com If you do enough with Kawneer they reimburse the cost. I like the old fashion way with a good material optimizer. Helps I can do the shop drawings myself. |
