Door Install, how long?
Single entry, typical job, no storm door, new sill, new riser, basic trim, standard 2" brickmould (very rare around here), alum. over bm only. Caulked exterior, caulked interior.
For me alone it's about 4 hour avg. when working alone. 3 hours with my helper.

This one took three hours last Friday. Had to make opening 2" smaller on both sides. 2 men, I stood around and watched and visited with the HO(Iowa Mutual Insurance President). Pella triple pane/with blinds.

I am just kidding on the two hours alone, most houses I have to put a door in requires quite a bit of fudge work just to make it look right.
Darn wonky old houses.

I did one the other day and it took 6 hours with a Carpenter.
I think I added 3 hours to his job. I should have just stayed in the truck and out of his way.

What do ya mean, it's a clad door. We stained it, at an old church set up as a work shop. The sprayer is always plugged in with poly in it.

I know it's clad. I meant the brickmould. Stain looks great.

I do them by myself and figure that time frame (3.5-4hr). When you say new sill and riser (kickboard?) I'm guessing this is an older 1960's era entry door with full 5/4 jambs, 8/4 oak sill that the original carpenter used a hatchet to chop down the joists when he set the unit.
Changing out a new style prehung is only about 2.5 -3 hrs.

yes, exactly. But many are much older than that too. If i'm swapping a door in a modern house then yes much easier and faster.

Very nice!! Great job on the trim in and out. I think all the coats and sweatshirts are what's slowing you down.
