I personally haven't installed a insulated product yet
i have also seen foam panels that had different siding profiles moulded into them that you installed first so that any manufacturer siding would essentially become foam backed

The individual contour foam is a nice product. It DOES qualify for the tax credit. Most of our vinyl jobs incorporate this.

I remember when Mr. Culpepper (the owner of PF) first presented his product to vinyl manufacturers. They laughed at him. A couple yeas later, Jim Ziminski became President of Vipco and forged a relationship with Jim and Crane was born. Nobody's laughing now. Jim had previously worked for GL windows and Wolverine. He was responsible for bringing scales, WC, deep pocket J window lineals and three piece corners to market. He put Wolverine on the map. Certainteed stole all the technology and dissolved Wolverine. Too bad really. It was by far the best panel ever made, even by today's standards. We were a seamless wolverine dealer for many years.

I used Wolverine Restorations on my house back in 1999. It had a fiberglass rod through the lock to help straighten the panels.

I think you mean Benchmark. The restorations was a smooth non reinforced panel and a beautiful one at that!

Yup, you're right, the Restorations were going on most of the homes I was framing. It's been a long time since I've seen either one.

Neither are available any more The symmetry panel was a 40' restoration with a very light brushed finish. Man I miss that panel

I know, the guy that bought my house is building an addition. I feel bad that he can't match the panels.

Re: Differences Between GP Cedar Spectrum And CT Cedar Impressions

that millenium panel was also a great idea
i used a few hundred sq of that and after a small
learning curve i feel it was the best nail hem out there

i always thought that benchmark rod would have worked well
on a soffit panel

Here's a newer generation of the benchmark

Caution. This distributor is NOT to be trusted. I've seen this panel and it's impressive but again doen't qualify for the tax credit.

GP Vinyl Siding is actually manufactured by Plygem....the largest vinyl manufacturer in the country. It has never been made by GP, as they are the distributor only. I have found the quality to be second to none....right up there with C'teed Cedar Impressions. The PlyGem sales rep in the area is very helpful and knows installs as well as building science.

Check your facts. Plygen doesn't manufacture any vinyl. All their lineals come from the Royal group. RG is the largest vinyl manufacturer in the western hemisphere.

Re: Differences Between GP Cedar Spectrum And CT Cedar Impressions

where in my post does it say I never used it? you don't know what my point is? i kind of spelled it out; its nothing special. i'm confused as to the meaning of your post Tom.
Milleniul has a good story but looking under the hood its nothing exciting unless of course a siding crew does'nt know how to properly nail siding.

Napco, Masco, DuraBuilt, Variform, GP, Cellwood....all Plygem owned. That's the fact.
