you can get it in galvalume,stainless and color matched aluminum

Neat looking. Same detail I've used for many years, but I always did a '2-piece. Looks nice.

that ledger to house detail is one of the most critical areas
to flash properly, i always worry about that

Just looks like F-channel to me. For those of you that are unsure of how to bend it, just refer to your VSI manual

straight runs would be fine
but turning corners it is nice to have layers overlaping in diffrent directions just my thoughts |

i flash both then the siding... dont know if its necessary
this was just something i saw that addresses somewhat a critical area not sure how effective it is but it looked interesting but a deck installer im not
