Custom Wavy Cedar Shingling....

Hey guys i saw a house recently with the gable end cedar shingled in a wave like pattern.. My boss says we will probillay end up doing this on the place we are working on how since its shown that way on the print.. My question is how do you go about doing this?? im assuming you will need to make a pattern to keep the courses corresponding with the previous and next courses.. if anyone has any experience doing this please chime in and let me know the tricks.. thank you
