Closing up shop

I have decided effective 7:20pm today, we will be shutting down our operation. Due to the Grace of God, Lost, has entered my life and touched me so deeply that I will no longer install such a wretched product as is commonly reffered to as vinyl siding. I will be contacting all of my current and former customers tomorrow to express my apologies for putting their families lives in jeapordy by installing such a dangerous product. We will be Hiring lost to re-side all of our customers houses with hardi plank, as it is the ONLY siding material that will not leak. Thank You Lost, You have saved me.

Since I will be freeing up so much time, that normally would have been spent destroying lives with vinyl siding, I will be able to be on Contractor talk 24 hours a day to bad mouth each and everyone of you that isn't as stupid as Lost and I.

Again I would just like to say How sorry I am for ruining so many many lives with this horrible product.

Sincerely
Patrick

You could just join the Hardi Plank Group.
I hear they have a good retirement program, with a lifetime supply of respirators and O2 cartridges.
But have to go through the deprogramming routine so no one will know you were brainwashed.

That sucks man

I'm assuming you will be getting some sort of counseling?

This has to be a shock to the family.
How did they take the news that your gonna be hanging around the house all day?

Patrick, I'm sorry to hear that. Though I too am on the verge of shutting down after finding out all of this info on vinyl siding I just can't live with the guilt anymore of putting it on peoples houses.

Yep,
Lotta vinyl siding jobs coming in.
Best worry-free stuff to put on your home.No caulking,No moisture trapped behind the siding,no repainting,a lot less expensive than fiber-cement panels, and it holds 75% of the remodeling market.
And if you ever have to take it off,an expensive abatement team won't need to control the toxic dust,if you installed Hardi-Plank.

So you don't use caulk. That makes sence. Another guy caulks his j channel to the window frame. I guess you let it fly. Good stuff - hides everything and the leaks - just can't see 'em - great philosophy

No face nails, unless warranted. You guys can look at our work and I think you know where to look to find the info. Ours is the finest in the industry and it does not LEAK.

You worry-free is like if you have cancer (leak - mold, etc.), if it is hidden, no one should care?

That's right - How could I forget - You have the MAGIC WIZARD OF OZ TAPE - THAT FIXES EVERYTHING.

Lost, You dont face nail the seams of your masonite?? I have seen very expensive houses in Northville Michigan that were that way and after a few years the seams were waving at ya. You seem to rip on everyone for using caulk to stop leaks but you say " You caulk your seams"?? I have installed masonite and I always used flashing over the top of the panel to cover the seam. Completely waterproof....

So you just install the Hardi Plank wood siding......Pretty mush partical board...You might as well be siding the house with OSB JUNK.....I cant tell you how much of that crap I have pulled off of house and replaced with vinyl.....Rotten as can be. Not to mention all the headers and studs behind it I had to replace...I give your customers 10 years and they will NOT be useing your inferior product when.... They will be tired of spending $2500 every three years to paint and tired of replacing rotten panels....Your customer wil look across the street at Joe Blows Vinyl house that he sprays with the hose once a year and wonder why he ever called you............ THere is a reason companies like Crane Siding are making a double 7" panel and that is to replace your junk siding ......

I can see you are new at this kind of work. You are misinformed and very angry. I am sorry, but maybe you will get it figured out in a decade or two. Hardiplank is Cement and Masonite is paper and LP is OSB with a skin.

Dbl 7 Crane (the formar Vipco -check them out) is vinyl adhered to open cell insulation last I checked. The open cell should never be installed on the outside of a home. It is known to fall apart when it get wet. Adhered to a product known to leak, it is a potential disaster happening, but the homeowner won't know for years. Its ok you don't know, but you will.

Let's get some sharper knives in this drawer.

Ok ... so the reason your houses are water proof is because You use pounds and pounds of caulk...What are your customers gonna do when that caulk begins to crack and fail???
