cedar shingles walls

does anyone know how many man hours per square labor for 18 inch with 8 inch reveal on walls? it should be much the same as on a roof ?

Once all trim is set, one man can staple up about 1.25 sq. per day. If there are alot of closely set windows and doors that could easily drop you back about 40%. Any narrow space over 5" I like to throw in some two piece to break up the area.

Yup, we use a Senco 1/4" crown with 1 1/4" stainless staples. We also have a Paslode with a 3/16 crown. I use a Porter Cable 7/16 crown where a heavier staple is desired.
