Cedar log siding.

We are remodeling a concrete block cabin...or rather picking up where another contractor stopped. The owner wanted the block covered and to look like a log cabin..so the previous contractor had a bunch of ERC slabs milled.....but left a lot unfinished.

I bought a load of 12 inch average size logs and put my son and SIL to milling them today...talk about doing something you really don't want to...but it will look ok...I'll post a picture of the finished look.

The top picture is a band mill inside our woodshop....the bottom picture is 2 pieces...milled and ready...will look like a rustic cabin for sure.

looks like fun to me. are you going to peel them also. another fun thing you can do is rip them leaving the last 2 feet full round. cut the one half away, then scribe some saddle notches for the full log look. have fun. i haven't done log work in almost 6 months. wish it was all i did.
